Warangal Institute of Management was established in the year 1995 as a fully residential campus in the educational township of Warangal- where the old and famous Kakatiya University and Regional Engineering Colleges are located. The Institute is just 130 kms from the mega city of corporate houses and business – Hyderabad; and is well connected with the city by several trains with less than two hours of journey. Warangal Institute of Management is unique in the ITM Group of Business Schools, in that the campus was designed from the ground up to make a figurative statement in the pursuit of management education.

Warangal Institute of Management is housed in an expansive campus located just off the center of Warangal. The campus buildings themselves have been developed with the principles of ecological and cultural harmony. The pedagogy and academic delivery model at Warangal Institute of Management is also notable for its emphasis on community learning, intense teamwork and round the clock involvement. The students typify the academic and developmental rigour that is the basis of the PGDBM program: ITM' ites sleep where they study, play where they work, and live where they learn. This total immersion defines the ITM Experience. The curriculum for the PGDM Programme is designed to prepare the students for middle and senior management positions. This is a two-year intensive programme divided into six trimesters. The students have to take eighteen compulsory courses in the first three trimesters (i.e., in the first year). In the second year the students have to take seven compulsory courses and ten electives in the chosen field of specialisation. Students have an option for doing an approved Thesis, in lieu of two electives in the second year.

In addition to this the students of Warangal Institute of Management are required to undertake one summer project & one winter project compulsorily apart from other projects. The summer project is to be undertaken at the end of the first year (i.e. first three terms) during May and June for a period of 6 to 8 weeks and winter project for a period of 3 – 4 weeks during Dec – Jan. The summer project has to be necessarily assigned by some company, however, for summer project the students have to work under the guidance of an ITM faculty. Unless the students complete the summer project and produce a certificate to that effect from the company they are not allowed to register for the second year of the programme.

Every year Warangal Institute of Management updates its syllabus and introduces new programs as per the demands of the corporate sector and industry. Just to name a few courses like E-Business, Internet Marketing, Knowledge Management, Customer Relationship Management, Internet Technologies & Programming, Strategic Costing, Project Management & Financing, Derivatives Management, HR Audit etc., have been recently introduced to keep in tune with the times.

Like all ITM PGDBM campuses, Warangal Institute of Management is a fully residential campus. Male students are housed in a dedicated hostel building right on the campus premises, and female students are provided with a separate, secure and managed hostel property a short distance away from the campus. All hostel rooms are on twin or triple sharing basis. A large, full-service cafeteria is located in the hostel building. The cafeteria serves home-style meals, three times a day. The Institute aims to provide a highly nutritional diet, with a variety of cuisines to cater to the taste of Waranal Institute of Management 's diverse student population.
