Having realised the need of teachers' training Sipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai , a few educated person of the area decided to hold a public meeting for the purpose. The meet was held on August 8, 1994 and in the meeting it was unanimously proposed that theSipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai should be started just that year. To do the necessary works for the establishment of the college a sponsoring body was formed with Sri Bhadreswar Nath as president and Sri Badan Chandra Saikia as the secretary and in due course the college was inaugurated on September 22, 1994 with due permission of Gauhati University. Thus Sipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai came into existence in 1994.

The Sipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai obtained NCTE recognition during session 1999-2000 but after that due to non-fulfillment of NCTE norms the recognition was withdrawn in the next session. Then after a long struggle when the NCTE norms were fulfilled the Sipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai again received the NCTE recognition from the session 2005-06 vide letter no. ERC/ 7-54/ (ER-54.6(a).1/ 2005/ 834(1) dated March 18,2005. The present intake capacity of the college is 100. TheSipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai has obtain affiliation to the university of Guwahati from the session 1999-2000 onwards, vide letter no. GU/ AFF/ 2006/ 3643 dated November 9, 2006. Ther founder Secretary of the college was Sri Badan Chandra Saikia and continued his service till July 31, 1999 and then Sri Rajani Kanta Nath was given the charge of the secretary and he has been performing his duties as a secretary till now.

The Sipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai has its own playground for out-door games. The playground of Sipajhar H.S. & M.P. School is also sometimes used for holding games like football and cricket. There are facilities for athletics. There are good facilities for indoor games such as Carrom, Badminton, Chess, Ludu. All the materials necessary for these games are available in the Sipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai . Just like the indoor games there are facilities for out-door games also. Games materials like football, Volley ball and Cricket are available in the college. Canteen facilities are available. Medical facilities are available as because the Public Health Centre of Sipajhar is very close to the Sipajhar B Ed College - Mangaldai . Hostel facilities for boys and girls are available in the college. The trainees coming from the other states usually occupy the hostels.
