Centre for Development of Advanced Computing – CDAC Mumbai formerly National Centre for Software Technology was established in the year 1985 by Ministry of Information Technology MIT- formerly Department of Electronics, Government of India, as a National Laboratory, for R & D in Software Technology. C-DAC, Mumbai has its offices in Juhu (Mumbai), Kharghar (Navi Mumbai), Nariman Point (Mumbai) and Electronics City (Bengaluru).

The educational role of C-DAC, Mumbai and Electronics City, Bengaluru conducts a well-established one-year duration full-time diploma in the field of advanced software technology for graduates and a six-month part-time diploma in the field of Information Security. R&D Divisions at the Centre also conduct professional educational courses oriented towards professionals sponsored by their employers.

The library also subscribes to several technical periodicals to provide the latest information to its users. The library caters to the needs of its staff, course participants, project students, external members and visitors.
