Brief History of the Trust
The journey of
Citizens Energy Group was started somewhere in 1887 by the combine efforts of
Three city leaders namely, Thomas Morris, Colonel
Eli Lilly as Benjamin Harrison. The trust was formerly known as Consumers Gas Trust and re-named to Citizens Gas in 1906. The year of acquisitions was started in 2000, starting with Power & Light Company (IPL) and followed by Westfield Gas system in 2005 and water and wastewater systems in 2014.
Services
The whole Citizen Gas business is relies on five services such as Water, Wastewater, natural Gas, Warm Heart Warm Home and UtitlitySheild. Water is service supplied to almost 400,000 homes and business of Marion, Johnson, Morgan, Hendricks, Boone, Hancock and Shelby.
